My Thai Buddy was born from a simple recognition: moving to Bangkok or visiting Thailand's capital should be an exciting adventure, not a stressful challenge filled with language barriers, cultural confusion, and overwhelming bureaucracy.
Our founder witnessed countless Western tourists and expatriates struggling with the same issues—spending hours researching neighborhoods online, getting lost in translation during their apartment search, missing out on truly authentic experiences, and feeling isolated during the crucial first steps of their new life in the city.
That's when the vision became clear: What if every Westerner moving to Bangkok could have a trusted local friend to guide them through the process? Someone who understood both cultures, spoke both languages fluently, and genuinely cared about making their Bangkok experience successful and enjoyable.

A Message from Our Founder
When I first made the move to Bangkok myself, I remember the feeling well: a thrilling mix of excitement for the adventure ahead and the overwhelming anxiety of the unknown. I spent countless hours trying to decipher rental agreements, figure out the best neighborhoods, and navigate the thousand small challenges that come with setting up a life in a new country.
I saw so many other Westerners—both tourists trying to find authentic experiences and new expats just trying to get their footing—facing the same hurdles. It became clear that what we all needed wasn't just a service, but a buddy. Someone on the ground who genuinely understood our perspective, who had been through it all before, and who could offer trusted, practical help.
That is why I created My Thai Buddy.
